NEW RESILIENCY CENTRE PROJECT
SIFCo has entered into an agreement with the Appledale Hall Progressive Association with the vision of creating a community resiliency centre. We are very excited to have the opportunity to utilize one of our local community halls in creating a space that we feel will really benefit our community. The resiliency centre will provide community resources in times of local emergencies e.g. wildfires or floods and will aim to enhance the physical and emotional well being of local

SILVERTON FIREHALL WILDFIRE RESILIENCY GARDEN UPDATE
The Silverton Wildfire Resiliency Demonstration garden is almost complete!! Our Landscaper Ray Nikkel has finished planting the garden and it looks fabulous. We are so pleased with the end result and look forward to seeing locals and visitors enjoying this new space. We think this is a wonderful example of how beautiful the area around your home can look while implementing Firesmart landscaping practices. FREE FIRESMART HOME ASSESSMENTS FOR VILLAGE RESIDENTS
As part of our Slocan Valley Wildfire Resiliency Program we are offering Free Firesmart home assessments to the residents of Slocan, Silverton and New Denver. If you are a resident of one of the three villages and would like a free home assessment you can register at www.sifco.ca/homeassessment

OUR CREW IS BACK AT WORK
Our crew have returned from their summer break. We are currently working on projects in the Anderson and New Denver areas. These wildfire Mitigation efforts are part of our Slocan Valley Wildfire Protection Plan (SVWPP). To learn more about our SVWPP click here. FIRESMART COMMUNITY DAYS
Throughout the Summer and fall of 2022 SIFCo attended the New Denver Friday markets to provide information on wildfire preparedness to our local community. We were able to answer questions from community members and educate them about our Slocan Valley Wildfire Resiliency Program. It was a great opportunity to spread the word about wildfire preparedness and inform residents about the homeowner resources they can access through the Slocan Valley Wildfire Resiliency Program.
