CO-OP INFO

Slocan Integral Forestry Cooperative (SIFCo)

We believe that the Cooperative model is best suited to achieve our goals of both a thriving business and being responsive to the residents and the landbase that we have been entrusted to steward.

In this section you will find all the necessary information in regard to SIFCo's incorporation, the memorandum of association, our bylaws.

The following link is our Memorandum of Association, essentially this is our “Constitution”.

This link is SIFCo’s bylaws. It is a lengthy legal document that goes into the details of how our cooperative is run.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

To become a member of SIFCo you need to have your principal place of residence, or be a registered landowner, within the following areas:

Between Lebhado Rd. to the south (this is at the south end of Lebhado Flats, south of Winlaw) and the southern boundary of the Village of Silverton to the North, and east of the Slocan River or Slocan Lake, in the Slocan Valley, for a minimum of six months prior to the date of your application for membership in the Cooperative.

You also need to intend to remain a resident or land-owner in this region.

If you meet the above criteria and are 19 years of age or older, you will then need to fill out and sign our Membership Application and our Membership Agreement (see links below).

Download these documents, print and read them, sign them, and mail them to our office with a cheque made out to SIFCo for $30.

We will then review your membership application and, upon acceptance, we will cash your cheque.

If for any reason your application is refused, we will promptly return your cheque with a clear explanation as to why your application was refused.
