SIFCo - FLIGHT OVER THE TROZZO CREEK WILDFIRE HEADWATERS

On September 16th 2021 SIFCo took a flight over the headwaters and areas affected by the wildfire that was discovered on July 9th. Over the course of the summer the fire grew to approximately 6000 hectares.

The local community was put on alert and then many homes were put under evacuation order.

While on the flight we took video footage as we felt it important to show the community the aftermath of the fire and how intense the burn was.

Thankfully we can put this event behind us now but it is important that we remember this and the local and global increase in wildfire activity to guide our future decisions regarding our forestry practices.
